Description

Canadian Amethyst with Hematite Inclusions is a unique mineral combination, renowned for its deep purple amethyst crystals embedded with hematite (an iron oxide) internally or on the surface. Amethyst appears transparent to translucent deep purple, while hematite exhibits steel-gray to dark red hues, often embedded as flakes or granules within the amethyst. This combination typically forms in hydrothermal veins, where both amethyst and hematite crystallize together in the same mineralizing environment.  The presence of hydrothermal solutions rich in iron can lead to the formation of hematite, while the silica-rich solutions allow amethyst to form.  The result is a dual mineralization that creates the beautiful combination of purple amethyst and metallic hematite.
